Lice die in 24 hours & eggs don’t survive off the scalp. Pillow case, sheets & bath towel in a hot dryer. Use a sticky lint roller on fabric (couches, stuffed animals, etc). Brushes, hair ties and accessories in dishwasher (1 time) or freezer (for 6 hours).

Dandruff
Dandruff is usually white or yellowish and flakes off the hair easily.

Lice Eggs (Nits)
Nits are tan to brown, teardrop-shaped, and firmly attached to a hair shaft close to the scalp. They do not brush or flick off with your fingers. Empty egg casings may remain after hatching. These are more transparent, harmless, and will eventually wash out.

Lice
A live louse is small, wingless, and about the size of a sesame seed. It may appear tan, gray, or brown and moves quickly when exposed to light. Unlike dandruff or nits, a louse can crawl.

Place what you find on a damp white paper towel, take a clear close-up photo, and zoom in. Nits have a distinct teardrop shape, while lice have six legs and an elongated body.

Itchiness is an allergic reaction to the saliva. Only 50% of people are allergic, and 50% feel NOTHING.
